Machining

At Scot Forge we offer a full range of in-house machining options to take your forgings to near-finished dimensions.

A combination of over 60 manual and CNC machining centers gives us the ability to turn, mill, or bore your parts as specified, with finishes ranging from 500 to 16 RMS.

With over two dozen horizontal turret and engine lathes, we are able to turn shafts or bars up to 80" diameter, with lengths to 550" long. Boring capabilities are available to 30" I.D. by 300" long.

A state-of-the-art bar peeler allows us to machine round bars from 4" O.D. to 16" O.D. with no length restrictions. This machine produces a 125 RMS finish with a 1/32" tolerance in a fraction of the time conventional lathes take.We also offer bar polishing on rounds 4” to 20” OD with lengths to 400” long and weights to 24,000lbs. yielding surface finishes to 63 RMS.
Our deep hole drilling/boring machines allow us to trepan, bore or counterbore 3/4" to 20" diameters through 42 feet in length.

Multiple vertical turret lathes are capable of machining rings, hubs and blanks up to 288" diameter by 100" high.

Our planer mills allows us to perform complex milling on parts up to 72" high by 77" wide by 336" long.
