As a result of market demand, Scot Forge is looking to hire a contract Aerospace Quality Engineer for a 9-12 month period to implement AS 9100 Aerospace Quality requirements.

Must have strong verbal/writing skills as well as Expert level proficiency with: AS9100; NADCAP; internal & supplier audits (lead role); cause and corrective action for internal and external customers; MRB reviews & dispositions ; contract reviews ; first-article inspections; development/implementation of process control plans/work instructions/internal procedures ; use of quality tools/metrics (pareto & fishbone analysis, SPC, process mapping, etc.).

•Must have the ability and proven track record to implement AS-9100 through a collaborative effort and gain internal buy in.
•Must have strong written communication to include procedure writing and developing a Quality Manual.
•Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings/blue prints.
•Sound organizational and analytical skills.
•Demonstrated strength in decision-making.
•Capable of multi-tasking with sufficient ease to meet multiple priorities and deadlines.

Intern-Programmer

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Scot Forge Company’s IT Department is looking for a self-motivated, highly driven individual to intern for the fall semester or winter break.

MAIN RESPONSBILITIES
The programmer intern will adhere to change control standards, policies and procedures. This includes testing and training procedures. This position will include software development, life cycle management, development and support of in-house developed and purchased software applications. The intern will also be responsible for creating and maintaining technical and user documentation of IT developed applications and procedures per documented standards, data migration and system integration support. They will resolve simple problems with high direction from management. The intern will also support existing business systems with assistance of business process owners, programmer analysts and/or business systems analysts. Maintenance of customer issues and requests. On average, 90% of work activity focuses on sustaining operations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Candidates must be working toward an Associates Degree or Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. No Masters degree or graduated candidates need apply at this time.

Manager of Process Quality

POSITION PURPOSE

The Manager of Process Quality is accountable for leading the initiative to create and develop a world class quality culture through the support and enhancement of the Scot Forge Corrective Action Request (CAR) System and continuous improvement activities in Quality. Additionally, the Manager of Process Quality will provide direction for a well implemented, sustainable, and efficient inspection department.

POSITION DESCRIPTION/PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

•Develop and implement, with the Corporate Quality Assurance Manager, the process to create a world class quality culture.
•Articulate the detail and importance of the process to all EE Owners at all levels.
•Be the visible leader in driving the quality culture; direct hands-on engagement at all levels and stages of the implementation and execution.
•Champion company-wide quality improvement initiatives (based on measurable data when appropriate data is available).
•Build meaningful relationships with Scot Forge Employee Owners to attain World Class performance.
•Ensure a high level of engagement with sales leaders and production leaders.
•Ensure appropriate technical support resources are available and utilized to support quality improvement initiatives including facilitation, statistical analysis, and 6-sigma tools.
•Oversee and lead the technical aspects of the inspection department.
•Assist Corporate Quality Assurance Manager in developing and maintaining company-wide quality measurements.
•Organize appropriate resources to address real time in-process quality problems that need resolution.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering

Experience/Years:
Manager level position requiring minimum of 10 years quality leadership experience with hands-on shop floor continuous improvement demonstrated success. Lean certification preferred. Six sigma black belt preferred.

Required Skills:
The successful candidate must possess excellent listening and communication skills, be organized and detail oriented. The ability to work both alone and within a team is essential. Candidate should be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
Technical skills include: FMEA, APQP, structured problem solving (8-D), lean tools – 5s, value stream mapping (VSM), TPM, root cause analysis, statistics, GD&T.

Process Engineering Technician

Position Description:

The Process Engineering Technician will be responsible for reviewing sales orders and creating production routings and other process documentation for the manufacturing of custom forgings. Will investigate alternative process plans with ability to recommend the plan that best suits the customer in terms of quality, delivery, manufacturing cost, and total satisfaction. Must work in conjunction with sales department, other Process Technicians, and Manufacturing Engineers to create and sustain a positive, high energy continuous improvement environment while meeting customer schedules, specifications and quality improvement initiatives, and other projects as required.

Duties:

•Review customer specifications and blueprints to determine production methods and materials. Add necessary information or review previous orders to retrieve missing data.
•Review sales orders and quotes to ensure information meets customer requirements and material is capable of requirements. Estimate costs as required.
•Enter customer order information and production processes including production sequence, heat treat requirements, quality test requirements and chemical restrictions.
•Provide estimated forging and machining sizes.
•Produce CAD drawings as required, using SolidWorks.
•Investigate nonconformance reports, determine root cause and recommend corrective action.
•Ability to solicit input from shop personnel to assist in creating process plans with optimal manufacturability.
•Work with fellow Employee Owners to create and sustain a strong team atmosphere.
•Understand and follow the Scot Forge quality policy.

Required Skills:

•Associate of Science degree or equivalent in technical/manufacturing field.
•2+ years experience in a manufacturing/metalworking environment.
•Ability to read and interpret complex industrial specifications.

TPM Leader

The position will report to the Director of Manufacturing. The primary objective of a TPM Leader is to coordinate and strategically lead TPM initiatives across the business at all locations. This will be accomplished through effective leadership and working relationships with business leaders, management team, operational team, functional change agents, and all applicable commercial and supply chain department personnel. The TPM will utilize performance management, problem solving, and TPM tools as well as training, coaching, and influencing skills to achieve specific organizational change and financial objectives. The position will also be responsible for advising the leadership team on the nature and progress of assigned TPM improvement activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•Train, coach, and facilitate TPM concepts and principles.
•Implement TPM or change management initiatives or work streams throughout the organization.
•Develop and maintain corporate lean, or change management strategies to be used to improve commercial launches.
•Coordinate, facilitate and lead process improvement events and projects.
•Proactively analyze issues, make recommendations, and achieve buyoff from executive team on the resolution.
•Provide thought leadership and best practices in TPM, and Change Management throughout company
•Coach managers and leaders through program development and implementation of programs.
•Formulate and deploy long-term strategic plans for acquiring and enabling efficient and cost effective lean processes, help to establish meaningful metrics across the entire organization and set up a system to monitor performance and progress, identify problems/opportunities, and use effective problem solving system and techniques to resolve them.
•Establish continuous improvement/lean practices within priority processes and transfer ownership of practices to fellow employee owners.
•Facilitate “effective teamwork” training transferring ownership of accountability and ownership for results to employee owners.
•Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s leadership, department heads and end users regarding pertinent CI activities.
•Design, develop and deliver continuous improvement training using the tools such as fishbone, Pareto, value stream mapping, brainstorming, root cause analysis, etc.
•Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives and end users regarding pertinent TPM activities.
•Drive business results by helping define and facilitate organization dialogue with the leadership team regarding what should be measured in critical categories and use them to drive achievement of financial impact.

Industrial Maintenance Electrician

Repair a variety of equipment, such as furnaces, overhead cranes, material handling equipment and presses involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical functions and systems. Should be able to perform repairs with fabrication welding and torch operations. Candidate would be responsible for performing preventative maintenance activities, check equipment function and operation and assist in the installation of equipment. Communicate equipment problems to supervisor, work safely in production environment, conduct COGS observations and perform general material handling and housekeeping duties.

Qualified candidates must be capable of servicing 480-4160 volt power, have good mechanical and electrical abilities and technical schooling. Candidates must also be able to read, understand and interpret blueprints, hydraulic and electrical schematics, operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely, possess good communication skills and work effectively with co-workers in team environment.

These positions are responsible for supporting and assisting the Forge Department with meeting production needs. NDT/Final Inspector

The Clinton Scot Forge Quality Control Department is seeking a highly motivated Final/NDT Inspector to join the team. This inspector will be responsible for to review shop order and production prints to determine appropriate testing and inspection parameters. In additon the inspector will set up, calibrate and operate various non-destructive testing instruments to verify steel integrity and grade, prepare print of non-conforming material indicating location of non-conformance and request for deviation and non-conformance reports for material out of specifications, distribute to sales and non-complying departments.
The successful candidate will have experience with Fork Trucks, Overhead Cranes, Grinders, Liquid Penetrant, Micrometers and Calipers, Tape Measures, Magnetic Particle Testers, Ultrasonic Scopes,Optical Emission Spectrometers.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in purchasing and receiving, preferably in a parts environment. Must be a self-starter with a positive attitude and the desire to assist the team in the continuous improvement of the Tool Crib area.
